ESPN’s Week 9 Simulation of what would be the 2012-13 NHL Season continues and this week has a heavy dose of the Washington Capitals. Not only are the Capitals the marquee match-up of the week (falling in a tough home loss against the NY Rangers 6-3) but they remain on the top of the Eastern Conference standings. Other notable stats from the ESPN simulation: Nicklas Backstrom leads the league in point and assists, Alex Ovechkin leads the league in goals and Braden Holtby leads the simulation league in goals-against average.
